Groveland to Yosemite Valley to Glacier Point
This driving tour is a superb collection of information and anecdotes that will keep you entertained while you travel to Yosemite National Park. This driving tour contains two audio recordings that can be enjoyed in one full day or divided into two separate adventures. The first audio accompanies you on the Highway 120 route from Groveland, California to Yosemite Valley. Travel time is approximately one hour.
Along this route you'll learn the history of this area, and get a feel for the
pioneers and outlaws of the gold rush era. You'll have an opportunity to
visit the Hetch Hetchy area, the Giant Redwoods of the Merced Grove and
stand at the base of Bridalveil Falls. You'll see famous land features such as
Half Dome, El Capitan, Cathedral rocks, the Three Brothers and the tallest
waterfall in North America, Yosemite Falls. The lush meadows and stunning
scenery of Yosemite Valley will inspire you and the wildflowers along the way
will entertain your eye with color.
Taft Point — Kris Corey
After you arrive in Yosemite Valley the printed insert offers options and ideas for places to visit and things to do. Depending on your interests and time schedule you choose how much time to spend here. The audio recommends that you try to divide your time equally between the Valley and Glacier Point as both areas are uniquely spectacular.
The second audio in this tour takes you from Yosemite Valley to the Glacier Point area of the park. The travel time for this part of the tour is about 40 minutes. You'll hear more stories and fun facts as you ascend into the higher elevations and become familiar with the trails and flora along the way.
Bridalveil Falls — Bob Ennis
This tour has an optional hiking adventure built in. The 16 page booklet includes a hiking map and trail guide filled with information. The audio directs you to a great trailhead near Glacier Point where you can hike to Sentinel Dome and/or Taft Point for some of the best views in the park.
The audio adventure concludes at a developed area of the park called Glacier Point. Stunning views of Vernal and Nevada Falls, the Clark Range, Cathedral Peak, Red Peak Pass and the Sierra Nevada will command your attention.

This adventure involves approximately two hours of driving time, one way. PLUS, whatever activities you choose to do while visiting the park. This tour works best May thru October and the Glacier Point Road must be completely OPEN.
