About Us

Welcome to Yosemite Audio Adventures. My name is Kris Corey and I'd like to thank you for looking at this website and considering these audio tour guides.

The purpose of these audio adventures is to enhance your visit to Yosemite National Park by providing you with educational and entertaining information. These driving tours (also known as adventures) utilize the travel time to inform you about the sights along the way, the history of the area, the native wildlife and vegetation and other interesting facts that will give you a better understanding and appreciation of the area.

The idea for Yosemite Audio Adventures was developed after working at the Hotel Charlotte in Groveland, California. My position allowed me to interact with tourists from all over the world who had come to see Yosemite. The most common problem was that the majority of people only had a day or so to do it!

There are nearly 748,000 acres in Yosemite. It can't really be seen in one day or even one lifetime, especially if you don't have a plan. The visitors I encountered were awed by Yosemite's unique scenery but overwhelmed by the size of the park and the crowds of people in the Valley. Most were unsure what to see and do once they arrived.

For nearly 20 years I have lived in this area and explored the surrounding wilderness at every available opportunity. It gives me great pleasure to share this knowledge and I hope that these audio tours will increase your appreciation for this area by giving you a better understanding of this beautiful place.

Kibbie
Kibbie — Kris Corey

I am an avid hiker who prefers the solitude of the natural world. I reside on a historic piece of private property in the Stanislaus National Forest with my dog Kibbie and an incorrigible cat named Shasta. In addition to writing audio tours, I am an amateur actor in local theatre and an artist who works in metal sculpture. I was commissioned to build the "Tower of Trash" sculpture for the U.S. Forest Service in 2006. I have written several articles for the "Yosemite Gazette" and authored two dinner theatre plays. However, my true love has always been the outdoors, and I feel incredibly fortunate to call this area home.

I appreciate any feedback you might have about the tours and hope that all your adventures are safe, happy and memorable.

Sincerely,
Kris Corey
